Charitable Act is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded to provide theatre opportunities to underprivileged children in Loudoun County, VA
Charitable Act is an entirely student run organization providing summer theatre camps to elementary school students in low socio-economic communities. Since the company's formation in 2013, Charitable Act has successfully run seven two-week summer camps at local elementary schools. Our high school volunteers lead camp activities, and teach our campers about all aspects of theatre. Throughout the two weeks, the students prepare to put on a full length musical production for friends and family on the last day of camp. In the process, they learn how to sing, act, and dance, as well as learn valuable life skills such as public speaking, confidence building, and teamwork. Charitable Act helps raise awareness on the lack of youth-based theatre opportunities in underprivileged communities, and the benefits of getting involved in the theatre arts at an early age.
